For phones nowadays,smart isn't enough.So the Treo phone is now using Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0(wm5) perating system (OS),because it offers features that PalmOS does not have.The WM5 OS brings a promise of interoperability between smartphone and PDAs,a feature that the PalmOS falls short of.TheWM5 OS also offers the user onehand navigation(a regular feature of smartphone);Previous PDAs and pocket PCs have to make do with their touchscreens for navigation.And as a secondary benefit,using flash memory will free up the battery power that was previously tasked with protecting the RAM(memory),thus resulting in improve battery life for WM5 devices.
