Boulder Fire

The Office of Emergency Management in Boulder says the fire is approximately 134 hectares and there is no estimate of containment.

"The wind conditions and fuel are scary," commander. Rick Brough's Office Boulder County Sheriff, told 9News.

Brough says no structures were lost and some 160 crew members are in the fire. They are prepared for wind gusts to 35 mph in the afternoon of Friday.

The authorities have evacuated Canyon Park subdivision at the base of Boulder Canyon, the mouth of Sunshine Canyon to Poorman Road, including the subdivision of the Seven Hills and Anemone Road, Knollwood Subdivision, Eagle Drive, Granite Drive, Timber Lane, Rock Green and Willow Glen.

The authorities have also issued evacuation orders for homes and businesses with the City of Boulder Canyon Boulevard south to the north of the street in the north, and fire in the west to the east lane 7. City officials say that Boulder is about 1,700 people and 800 units in the evacuation area of the city.

According to the OEM Boulder, 1,600 telephone numbers have been notified of the fire through a reverse emergency notification.

Some 139 residents were evacuated in Boulder County outside the city limits.

An evacuation center was set up and Brough said Friday afternoon that about 24 people were still seeking refuge there.
