SAT 5 Mar 2011 16:55:00: TT Samaraweera (31) and KC Sangakkara (24) added 56* for forth wicket. Sri Lanka 131/3 (30.6 ov) lost early wickets, Sangakkara hits 50.
After winning the toss Sri Lanka lost their openers quickly. Sri Lanka was at 6 in 2nd over when TM Dilshan lost hits wicket to Tati at four. He hit one four in his four ball inning. White Caught TM Dilshan at second slip. Steve Smith pulled off a stunner and reduces Sri Lanka at 31 for two in 7th over of the inning. Left-hand opening batsman Upul Tharanga lost his wicket to a short and wide delivery by Lee. Tharanga hit six runs in 18 balls without any four.
Sri Lankan wicketkeeper captain KC Sangakkara joined by DPMD Jayawardene and both added 44 runs for 3rd wicket in 8.4 over. In 16th over of the inning Smith run out Mahela who pushed Watson ball towards cover point, Mahela decided to go for a deadly run, smith picked up cleanly clipped bowlers end stump. DPMD Jayawardena scored 23 runs in 25 balls with three the help of three fours.
For Australia SW Tati bowled with lot of heart and conceded 23 runs in his first spell of 5 and capture one wicket. JJ Kerza bowled 6 overs and leaked 25 runs without wicket. Lee took one wicket in 5 over spell for 27 runs.
